The Gala Season Cometh!

It’s that time of year again where the Met Office pretend we are going to have a record breaking heat wave summer and towns across Midlothian dust off their bunting and hang it from the lampposts.

5th Place Aint Bad

Well another Grand National has been and gone and my horse only came 5th! So close yet so far, at least it started the race. Well done and congratulations to anyone who put money on ‘Don't Push It’.

Friday Night Halloween Treat

Our Friday Night Halloween Treat

Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated!

Well after falling I’ll last week I will be returning to have my Sunday Lunch this weekend!

Joining me in the studio will be Alex Petty from the Laughing Horse free festival to tell us about which acts are performing and how you can be a festival lovey on a budget!

EIFF: Adam Review

Director: Max Mayer
Cast: Hugh Dancy, Rose Byrne, Peter Gallagher, Amy Irving, Frankie Faison
Next Showing:27 June, 21:30 at Cineworld 7
Adam is the closing night film of this years Edinburgh International Film festival and in my opinion a great choice.

To sum up Adam is a film that left me for some strange reason feeling warm on the inside. Its a different twist on a romantic comedy.

EIFF: Spread Review

Well after a long gander at the Edinburgh Film Festival guide and speaking to other festival goers last night I decided on seeing my first film, Spread.

Director: David Mackenzie
Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Anne Heche, Margarita Levieva, Sebastian Stan, Maria Conchita Alonso, Hart Bochner, Rachel Blanchard
Next showing:24 June, 21:00 at Cineworld 3

Its that time of year again

Well its that time of year again when Edinburgh slowly fills with the gabble of festival goers and tourists transforming the city for a few months at least, in to a hub of culture.

But is is all just for the tourists and visitors or can the residents, who have to cope with the city for the rest of the year enjoy the festival season just as much?

I'm one of the cynics that rarely ventures out to see much if anything at all at the festivals and this year I plan to change that (or at least try!).

Baarilliant

Got sent this over the internet, is it just me or is this great!

WARNING: Mothers Day Approaching!

This is a reminder to all sons and daughters out there that mothers day is approaching and what better way to make your mum feel special than get a request on the radio!

This Sunday on the lunchtime show I will be squeezing in as many requests and dedications for mums everywhere near or far away listening on the World Wide Web.

If you want a request for your mum then you can either reply to this post, or e-mail presenters@blackdiamondfm.com and flag it up for my attention and I will see what I can do.
