Underbelly Celebrates Moo-ve To New Pastures.

This year Underbelly are in pastures new with five main festival sites across the city.

New for 2015 is the Underbelly’s Circus Hub on The Medows. Bringing a program of 12 international circus shows to the Fringe. Violet Udderbelly has been safely relocated to her new home in George Square Gardens. Celebrating her fresh pasture with a facelift and a new skin for this year.  Not forgetting the original Cowgate site with its several venues and licenced bars.

With over 130 moo-vellous shows on offer this year. Underbelly has a jam packed line up and a wide variety of shows on offer. From comedy to theatre, circus to cabaret and plenty of family entertainment there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The 2015 Underbelly launch and party was held at George Square. Four-hundred and ten people crowded into Violet Udderbelly to see this year’s showcase and were treated to a set of extracts from this year’s varied program.

Country legend Tina C hosted the event saving her much desired singing performance until later. The audience were then Gobsmaked! with some world class a cappella and beatboxing mash ups covering over 40 song. With Heidi O’Loughlin’s comedic monologue about the phone game snake and Dillie Keane recalling a rather extravagant one night stand in Rome there were many laughs to be had. Circa amazed the audience with hula hooping performance and Austentatious provided some improvisation. The first ever Microsoft Windows dance routine was performed by Foil, Arms and Hog. With even Clip-it making an appearance.  The grand finale was BARBU providing a stunning circus act complete with muscular bearded men and beer.

Directors Ed and Charlie then took the stage breaking the exciting news that Violet Udderbelly is going international. Heading to Hong Kong for ten weeks later this year. Then finally declaring this year’s Underbelly season open.
