Retro Video Club Lead SingerOver 5000 music fans descended on Dalkeith Country Park last weekend for the Midstock Festival.

Opened by this year’s Battle of the Band winners Retro Video Club. Playing to a loyal group of fans who had come out especially to support the band, despite the rain.  

With clouds continuing to hover overhead the Ooh La La’s took to the stage. However, were quickly asked to leave as they didn’t adhere to Midstock Festivals Family friendly policy.

 

 

This left more time for The Rah’s who did not disappoint. The Rah'sPlaying their latest original music. Getting the crowd dancing. Whilst their avid supporters handed out logo stickers to everyone and everything in sight.  

 

The Volts were up next delivering an electrifying AC/DC tribute act. Owning the stage with their energetic rock and roll performance. Belting out classic hits such as Highway to Hell and Back in Black with the crowd singing along.  

Rewind and Fatherson continued the music on stage. Whilst some of the crowds attention turned to the Food Village, Bars and Funfair. With a large selection of locally sourced produce and handmade items. Including some delicious wood stove cooked pizza and tasty chocolate brownies. Everyone was getting into the festival spirit, complete with face paint and wellies.

With the sun starting to make an appearance, the great atmosphere continued as cover band The Flavours took to the stage. Playing a series of tunes from across the decades. Including the Black Eyed Peas - I gotta feeling, Pharrell Williams-Happy and James – Sit down next to me.  Keeping the crowd waving and smiling away.

Up next was DJ MC Mallorca Lee playing a series of Ultra-Sonic Anthems. Attracting a huge crowd to the front of the stage. Holding signs with lyrics emblazoned on them and bouncing about to the beats.Ultra-Sonic Fans

The Hoosiers followed delivering an up close and personal performance. As Irwin Sparks scaled the barriers at the front of the stage to the amazement and delight of the crowd. Playing a number of their greatest hits including “Worried about Ray.”

 

Fish on Stage

Local artist Fish got a huge welcome from Midstock. Playing the entirety of his album Misplaced Childhood as part of its 30th Anniversary tour. The crowd happily singing along to every line.  

Finally The Fratellis took to the stage to rapturous cheers and applause. Performing several of their well know songs including Chelsea Dagger. With the audience going wild.

 


As The Fratellis played the last cords on their guitars the Midstock Festival came to a close. Bringing the festival to a safe and enjoyable conclusion.
