With romantic comedy not really being my thing, unless it has aliens, spaceships and a fight scene, it was with trepidation that I went to a showing of ‘The Rebound’

The film starts with Sandy (Catherine Zeta-Jones) breaking up with her husband and leaving for the bright lights of the big city with her two kids and ends up in a ‘Rebound’ romance with her much younger male nanny called Aram (Justin Bartha). The movie evolves into a typical older woman falling in love with a younger man story but with a bit of a different ending (no spoilers for you).
Catherine Zeta-Jones fills centre stage as Sandy with ease and Justin Bartha works round her perfectly. The main stars for me were the kids in the film who had some great lines and scenes (although I don’t think they knew what they meant)
There are all the essential elements of a rom-com for you die-hard fans but also a little twist to give this film something different for everyone else.
’The Rebound’ hits the screens on the 30th of July
