Barry's Charity Auction

I recently held a charity auction during the Drivetime show to raise funds for Cancer Research UK as I had been diagnosed with Skin Cancer, had 2 operations and then was subsequently given the all clear so my wife Kerry and I are running a 5k on 12th October in Holyrood Park and fundraising on the way.

Some of the items up for grabs were a signed Hibernian Football Top kindly donated by Solid Gold Sunday presenter Alan Stuart after he had won the top in a raffle at Sainsbury's Meadowbank so a massive thanks to Alan and to the staff at Sainsbury's, Alan asked if I fancied having a raffle and after a good chat we both decided a charity auction live on air would be a laugh so after several donations of items we went ahead and done it and thanks go to Stuart James who popped in to help out on the day you can hear the show here: http://m.mixcloud.com/basher1969/my-drivetime-show-auction-special/ but remember the auction is over and done with and thanks to some very generous listeners we raised a grand total of £235 which is amazing and put with all the other donations Kerry and I have received we are well I've the £1,000 mark which is way over our target of £500.

The person in the picture above is David Johnston from Johnstons Plumbing Services a top man indeed.
Other lots up for grabs included 2 tickets to Hibs v Queen of the South and R.E.M Unplugged double cd as well as some beautiful bags decorated by the fab Samantha E.
A huge thanks to everyone who took part in the show.
