Yes troops Mad Dan is back in 'Sunny' Scotland. Friday/Saturday at the Download Festival down in Donnington was ROASTIN'! The fact that everyone wears black didn't help either;-)

Two great days of rock, Kiss were just magic and I've actually got a recording of the show, I'll play a few tunes from it when I get back on air. Priest were the biz, Motorhead are Motorhead ye canny beat 'em, caught Stone Gods set as well who will be playing cabaret Voltaire on the 24th June in Edinburgh, great band get yourself a ticket NOW, you will not be dissapointed AC/DC meets Metallica, these of course are the guys who used to be in The Darkness, their new album is out next month, I have a copy and it's the dogs!

Got a few interviews with Jonny from Kill Hannah, Owen from Army Of Freshmen and had a good chat and interview with Frank the drummer with the Fun Lovin' Criminals and his brother Darrel, who is in a band called 20 below Zero.

Saxon played on the 'small' stage on Saturday and the place was actually bursting with people trying to see 'em, great set from them but too short considering the wealth of material they can play.

Kid Rock was a 'no-show' as he had taken ill and was taken to hospital! In the interests of journalism I called the said hospital he was taken too and they knew nothing about it!!

(Taken ill = Big Bad Mood & Stormed Off, I think he was jsut scared of the Classic Rock Crowd tearing him to shreds!)

Met Rock God Tony Iommi on saturday and got a pic with him as did Caroline who was also hob-nobbin' with the VIP crowd down there. (Pics will be on site soon once downloaded and young Chris has time to get em up) Just missed meeting Ace Frehley as he was being driven out of the back stage area just as I was walking in Bummer!

Hi to all the other folks I was talking to there, Mark & Sal, Liz, the guys who were camping in the RIP area as well. Hopefully we have a 'wad' of new listeners to the Rock Show on BDFM.

I won't be in this Friday as I have a previous engagement opening a chip shop in Niddrie;-) no seriously I'm going to the Ballet! No I Am! so I'll be back rockin' on Friday 27th june with music from the Kiss set at Download 2008, as well as some other great new tunes coming out at the moment. Norm 'Slam' Dunk will be back with y'all this Friday with his own unique style and his veiws on what's rockin' He's off to the Whitesnake/Def Leppard gig tonight (Tuesday 17th) so I have a feeling those bands will be high on the agenda. If you're going to that gig get along early for support band Black Stone Cherry. Southern American Rock at it's best a great band.

Another gig to look out for this week is guitar legend Michael Schenker and his band MSG at the liquid rooms on Thursday. Get along if you can and don't forget next Tuesday Stone Gods, Big linda, and Heavy Drapes at the Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh.
