Why? - Shark Dive 2008

So exactly why are these two potty presenters risking life and limb and jumping in beside Jaws?

What makes the Anthony Nolan Trust different is that there is no other organisation out there which has such a major impact upon the lives of leukaemia sufferers. In many cases when all other treatments have failed and there is almost no hope left, a bone marrow transplant from a matching donor is their only hope of survival. The Anthony Nolan Trust exists to find that special person, that matching donor, the complete stranger who is prepared to voluntarily donate some of their bone marrow or blood stem cells to help that patient, if that person can be found this charity can achieve miracles.

Both Children and Adults that have been made to face the possibility of only months to live turn to The Anthony Nolan Trust to find that unique match that could potentially save their life. Sometimes when a match isn’t found it is not because there isn’t a match out there in the world somewhere, it is purely because that important person isn’t on the register.

When Black Diamond FM presenters Derek and Arlene dive with a few big fishes on Sunday 14th December 2008 it is to raise money to help with the lifesaving work of The Anthony Nolan Trust. If even one individual is made aware of the bone marrow donor register and signs up due to the actions of a couple of daft and daring DJ’s it will be all worthwhile.

Come on together we can make a difference
lots of love Arlene and Derek
