Local football news from Newtongrange Star

Following today's SFA Licensing Committee meeting we are delighted to confirm that the club's application has met the criteria set out by the SFA for an entry level licence.
We now move forward to the next stage which is the SFA Board for consideration of our Membership application and we will await there decision with eager anticipation.

As with all clubs who have taken the opportunity to apply for a membership and licence through the move to the East of Scotland FA / League in the pyramid system a lot of hard work has been put in by the club committee, sponsors and supporters for which I am extremely grateful. Three people in particular deserve recognition for the preparation in the early stages of our application, Tommy Smith, David Pryde and Stan Adams who laid the foundations for us to reach today's outcome in moving the club forward.

The shape of Non-League Football in Scotland is changing for the better, with clubs providing better facilities for players & supporters with the standards being raised and I'm proud that Newtongrange Star are part of that.

Be on the Star !
