Tessa Sanderson CBE on Talking Sport 23rd July 2014

Last night Tessa Sanderson CBE spoke about her history in sport, javelin throwing in both the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. The awards for her success, a Gold Medal in the Olympic Games, and remains today the only British Woman to ever win a throwing Gold Medal. Tessa, 3 time Commonwealth Gold Medalist was awarded the MBE, OBE and in 2004 was awarded the CBE for her services to Sport. We talked about the Commonweath Games in Glasgow, about the facilities, the volunteers, and what would be going through the minds of the athletes taking part, finally talking about the Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy which is a charity organisation to help assist young people in sport, towards a healthier lifestyle and through physical activity, together with building confidence and a social wellbeing whilst still in education
