EIFF 2013 Programme Revealed

In front of a large gathering of press in Edinburgh’s Filmhouse cinema today artistic director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival Chris Fujiwara announced the programme for this year’s festival.

The 67th edition of the festival which runs from 19-30th June, will showcase 146 features from 53 countries, including 14 World premieres, 6 international premieres and 10 European premieres.

Included this year is a new strand of films picked by 15-19 year olds from Scotland called ‘Not Another Teen Movie’ The new strand includes quarter-life crisis comedy ‘Old Stock’ by Canadian director James Genn and a Danish coming-of-age drama ‘You And Me Forever’ amongst others.

After the press announcement I caught up with Chris Fujiwara and asked him about it.

As previously announced, this year’s two country Focuses showcase work from Korea and Sweden not previously seen in the UK.

Also returning this year after a two year gap is the EIFF Audience Award voted for by the attendees at this years festival.
