ZOO Venues 2015 Launch

ZOO Venues is celebrating its 15th year at the Fringe.

With a program full of new writing and featuring several emerging companies ZOO offers a wide variety of shows. Providing the opportunity to see striking large scale works and fresh takes on classics. This year’s repertoire highlights many dance and physical theatre acts, exhibiting works that are both challenging and exciting.

There award winning dance program sees the return of the Scottish Dance Theatre presenting their critically acclaimed new work YAMA. ZOO Venues established international links with the Czech Republic also continues to grow. With VerTeDance staging their successful new creation Correction.

New for 2015 ZOO has an additional 100 seater venue, ZOO Sanctuary where this year’s launch was held. Presenting a showcase of ZOO extracts commencing with the ever popular and funny Discoteque Machine. Clout Theatre ‘experts in the grotesque’ presented a segment from there primitive show FEAST. Whilst The Wardrobe Ensemble took us back to 1972 with David Bowie, gay liberation and space hoppers. Self and others put on a display of balance and skill and the launch concluded with Liberation from the Alchemist theatre company.
