EIFF: We Are The Freaks, Review

Rating: ***

We Are The Freaks is a surreal and anti-teen movie set in Thatcher-era England, about three teenagers having the night of their lives.

It's a bizarre film with a hilarious script and has a lot of influence coming from 'The Inbetweeners' and Danny Boyle's 'Trainspotting'.

Something I really enjoyed in this comedy was the direct address from the characters. I hadn't seen this in movies for a while and didn't expect it but it really makes you feel like you're a part of the film. ("Don't you think?")

An excellent cast, with some faces you may recognize: Mike Bailey and Sean Teale featured in the popular TV show 'Skins', Rosamund Hanson starred in 'This Is England' and Jamie Blackley was in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.
